Generally regarded as Tunisia’s top hotel, elegant and stylish, and built to resemble a Moorish – Andalucía Palace, with the emphasis on space, water and light. Extensive tropical gardens and walkways lead down to the beachfront. 15 minutes’ drive from the airport, and the bustling capital Tunis is just 20 minutes away. Sister hotel to The Residence in Mauritius.
All of the 164 rooms and suites are spacious, and decorated using local fabrics and cool marble. Each room has either terrace or balcony facing the garden or at a supplement with sea view. Junior suites with almost double the living space also available.
Facilities include swimming pool and indoor option, numerous speciality restaurants serving both regional and international cuisine, tennis, spa, and well organised Dolphins Kids club (3-12 years). A selection of water sports can be arranged. A championship golf course is a just a short drive (no pun intended) away.
The hotel can arrange desert drives either during the day, or for something special, try dinner in the desert, sitting on padded cushions by the camp fire. Tunis is worth exploring, with its combination of sophisticated shopping, French café culture and lively souks. Also many will find the ruins of ancient Carthage fascinating, just a short drive away. The hotel concierge will be delighted to assist you.
Our opinion – A good all round hotel that appeals to both couple and families. Excellent leisure facilities plus a very high standard of accommodation. The rooms are spacious and can easily accommodate a small child in addition to two adults. For those requiring two rooms, the hotel are mindful of the need to confirm adjoining or interconnecting and try to assist whenever possible, but early booking is essential. The main beach is public, as are most in Tunisia, however during the peak months of May to August The Residence reserves a private section for their in-house guests.
